It is the end of a quirky era in Los Angeles — the David House is no more. Well, the house is still there, but the 19 infamous statues that gave the Hancock Park home its name are gone. They were removed sometime over the past few days, along with fencing and the gate that read “Youngwood Court.”
It looks pretty sad, doesn’t it? I was hoping the new owner would keep at least one statue, just as an homage to one of the more eclectic tourist attractions in the city. Alas, it was not to be — unless there is one hiding in the garage waiting to make an appearance in the future.
