There was a time when bowling was one of the great American pastimes. That is no longer the case, and little by little those palaces built for the sport in the 50s and 60s are going away. Many of the bowling alleys were built in the Googie style; appropriate because a fun looking building with fun signs contained a fun sport. Here are some of the survivors in Los Angeles (although I am not sure about the last one. It was boarded up and abandoned when I stumbled upon it a few years ago).
