Decades in the making (apparently), the giant rock at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is now open to the public. Dozens of people were walking under the suspended 340-ton boulder at about noon Sunday, an hour after it was dedicated and officially opened.

It’s definitely an odd feeling, walking under something so massive that seems precariously perched above. Many people were just hanging out underneath it; I’m confident it won’t come crashing down, although I wasn’t particularly comfortable just standing there waiting for that not to happen.
